Al Andalus Villa Compound · Waterproofing Renewal
Removal and reinstallation of the torch-applied waterproofing membrane system across six villas at Al Andalus Villa Compound, Al Ain, a fast-track renewal completed within one week and backed by a 10-year waterproofing warranty.
Project Facts
Strip, Prepare, Re-Membrane
The works involved full removal of the existing waterproofing layers and preparation of the substrate to ensure proper adhesion and long-term performance. The new system comprised a 4 mm torch-applied plain waterproofing membrane over D41 primer, with a 4 mm torch-applied mineral membrane installed in designated exposed areas for enhanced durability and protection.
The scope also included 5 cm wide, 1.5 mm thick aluminium flashing with high-performance sealant at skirtings and vulnerable water-ingress zones, ensuring a fully watertight joint system. On completion, a 48-hour water ponding test was conducted and passed, confirming the integrity of the installed system before handover.
